Monthly Recipe Contest Madness Fact Sheet• Starting in March 2010 through December 2010, each month features a recipe contest.
• The contest is being hosted by Athens Foods and will be conducted online at http://www.phyllo.com
• Entrants are invited to submit an original recipe using Athens Fillo Dough or Athens Mini Fillo Shells, which complies with the monthly theme and monthly ingredient
• Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., 18 years of age or older who are members or register as members of phyllo.com
• Prize Total: $4,000
• Four prizes awarded on a monthly basis
• Best Creative Use of the Monthly Ingredient in a Fillo (Phyllo) Recipe ($100)
• Best Creative Use of the Monthly Ingredient in a Mini Fillo Shell Recipe ($100)
• Best Easy Use of the Monthly Ingredient in a Fillo (Phyllo) Recipe ($100)
• Best Easy Use of the Monthly Ingredient in a Mini Fillo Shell Recipe ($100)
• To be eligible, Mini Fillo Shell recipes must have 6 ingredients or less (includes Mini Fillo Shells, monthly ingredient, spices, garnishes; prepared ingredients such as seafood salad or pie filling are counted as one ingredient) and have a maximum prep time of 15 minutes (excludes chilling and baking time).
• Fillo Dough recipes must have 10 ingredients or less (includes Fillo Dough, monthly ingredient, spices, garnishes; prepared ingredients such as seafood salad or pie filling are counted as one ingredient). The maximum prep time for Fillo Dough recipes is 45 minutes (excludes chilling and baking time).
• Prizes will be awarded according to the following judging criteria:
• Each month the contest will begin on the first day of the month and end on the last day of the month
• Four categories = four winners per month
1. Fillo (Phyllo) Dough – best creative use of monthly ingredient in a fillo (phyllo) dough recipe
• Taste – 0-35 points
• Creative use of the monthly ingredient – 0-25 points
• Presentation – 0-20 points
• Interpretation of the monthly theme – 0-20 points
2. Mini Fillo Shells – best creative use of monthly ingredient in a mini fillo shell recipe (6 ingredients or less)
• Taste – 0-35 points
• Creative use of the monthly ingredient – 0-25 points
• Presentation – 0-20 points
• Interpretation of the monthly theme – 0-20 points
3. Fillo Dough – best easy use of the monthly ingredient in a fillo (phyllo) dough recipe
• Taste – 0-35 points
• Overall ease of preparation – 0-25 points
• Presentation – 0-20 points
• Interpretation of the monthly theme – 0-20 points
4. Mini Fillo Shells – best easy use of the monthly ingredient in a mini fillo shell recipe (6 ingredients or less)
• Taste – 0-35 points
• Overall ease of preparation – 0-25 points
• Presentation – 0-20 points
• Interpretation of the monthly theme – 0-20 points
Bonus points for all categories
• 5 bonus points for photo
• 10 bonus points for video
Each entry can receive up to 115 points per the judging scale
• Judges will select the Monthly Winners
• Monthly winners will be announced on http://www.phyllo.com
• Entrant may only enter a Recipe and Photo or Video link to which he/she owns all the legal rights
